It was a movie with a corrupt sheriff after a man and woman. He kills one of their friends by dropping him into a snakepit with venomous snakes. I believe that it is the same movie that ends with cops shooting a woman as she is getting out of a car or off a motorcycle and the man manages to run close enough to the sheriff to shoot and kill him despite his being shot at least a dozen times."
